3/10/2024 0 Comments Martin whatson art![]() Martin Whatson: This depends so much! Recently I’ve come up with most of the new ideas for walls! but it normally doesn’t take too long! It also depends on how good I feel the new idea is! a great one can easily push back a lesser one in the making! Normally I work with a few series and keep evolving them and sometimes new ideas spring out from that! How long does it take for a new idea to come to life for you? From first thought to execution? I especially like the piece where it appears as if the wall is being pulled back to reveal something new. ![]() The movement, the colors coinciding with the grays. Kendra: Whatever people what to label your work, what they will say is that it is amazing. Graffiti also has also been reputed in media as criminals where street art had been embraced and in many places is celebrated! Martin Whatson: I think this is an issue all over the world! Streetart is very easy to understand for people, a beautifully painted side of a building or a stencil with an in your face message is something all can relate to, While someone’s name is quite cryptic for people to understand! Kendra: Even today when people refer to something as “graffiti” it can render a negative connotation as opposed to when it’s labeled “street art.” Especially since in the US people often associate graffiti with gangs. Martin Whatson: All started with my interest from traditional lettering, but I never got particularly good at it and started doing characters, that evolved to small stencils and later larger murals when I started doing street art! Kendra: Did your love of ’90s graffiti start with the classic lettering and evolve into what it is today or have you always been drawn to these larger than life pieces of work on the side of a public place? This being before the smartphones so the only thing we had to do was watch the ever-changing walls along the lines! All this led to my start in graffiti and later street art! Martin Whatson: It was always the local graffiti scene that drove me from the beginning! Of course, watching Style Wars and Beat Street was inspirational but I had started graffiti before I first watched any of them! I used to ride the subway between mine and my friend’s house. Kendra: Being born in the mid-’80s and growing up in the ’90s in Norway, was there any American pop culture that drove you towards art or was it always graffiti that sort of sparked your interest? Always a pleasure to talk with someone as talented as such so sit back and enjoy this exchange between a street artist and a girl who can barely handle a stick figure. Street art ain’t what it used to be and because of that artists like Martin Whatson are able to bring imagination to cityscapes taking basic buildings and transforming them into colorful centerpieces for passersby to enjoy. ![]() While some graffiti is still revered as nonsense, there has been an upswing in the art community when it comes to acceptance. ![]() Just imagining those artists reaching incredible heights with nothing more than paint in their hands? It’s quite well, incredible. Anyone who grew up in a city can tell you there’s as much beauty in a piece of well-done graffiti as there is in a piece hanging in The Louvre. 3/10/2024 0 Comments Balanced flow meter![]() This speed is always a positive quantity, since any parcel moves along its own trajectory and, for increasing times (d t>0), the trodden length increases as well (d s>0). The velocity vector ( V) is oriented like s and has intensity ( speed) V = d s/d t. This frame is termed natural or intrinsic because the axes continuously adjust to the moving parcel, and so they are the most closely connected to its fate. The frame of reference ( s, n) is shown by the red arrows in the figure. The radius of curvature approaches an infinite length at the points where the trajectory becomes straight and the positive orientation of n is not determined in this particular case (discussed in geostrophic flows). The distance between the parcel position and the centre of curvature is the radius of curvature R at that position. The centre of curvature is found on the 'inner side' of the bend, and can shift across either side of the trajectory according to the shape of it. The trajectory at a position s has one tangent unit vector s that invariably points in the direction of growing s 's, as well as one unit vector n, perpendicular to s, that points towards the local centre of curvature O. When we consider the motion determined by the forces selected next, we will have clues of which type of trajectory fits the particular balance of forces. In this section we assume to know it from the start for convenience of representation. In reality, however, the trajectory is the outcome of the balance of forces upon the particle. The position of the packet is defined by the distance on the trajectory s= s( t) which it has travelled by time t. The momentum equations are written primarily for the generic trajectory of a packet of flow travelling on a horizontal plane and taken at a certain elapsed time called t. The momentum equations in natural coordinates Trajectories In particular, the balanced-flow speeds can be used as estimates of the wind speed for particular arrangements of the atmospheric pressure on Earth's surface. The idealisation consists in considering the behaviour of one isolated parcel of air having constant density, its motion on a horizontal plane subject to selected forces acting on it and, finally, steady-state conditions.īalanced flow is often an accurate approximation of the actual flow, and is useful in improving the qualitative understanding and interpretation of atmospheric motion. In atmospheric science, balanced flow is an idealisation of atmospheric motion. An evolution of the highly successful NC258 platform, M8 brings no clean solder paste to the next level. M8 no clean solder paste is designed for the most demanding high density electronic assemblies. The oven has two floating temperature sensors (top and bottom) and a provision for one sensor to clamp/attach onto the PCB (the external sensor). Boards with ENIG surface treatment will initially generate IMC of Ni3Sn4, but only a very small amount of Cu6Sn5 compounds will be generated. Features: - For use with demanding, high density electronic assemblies. The Eurocircuits eC-reflow-mate is a batch oven with quartz infra-red heaters on the top and bottom plus convection (controlled air flow). If the time is too long, bad IMC of Cu3Sn will continue to be generated. The peak temperature of the product is also reached at this stage (the assembly reaches the highest temperature in the furnace). TAL must remain within the parameters specified by the solder paste manufacturer. It is generally recommended to control it at 1-3μm as the best. Observation test of heating conditions R&D, quality control, etc. Easily achieved by the temperature profile of lead-free solder mounting. Can observe the melting state of solder paste. The thickness of IMC is acceptable between 1-5μm, but it is not good if IMC is too thick. HOME > PRODUCTS > REFLOW SIMULATORSRS-1C FEATURES. ![]() Metal Compound (IMC), is a critical stage within the reflow oven because the temperature gradient across the assembly must be minimized. The initial structure of the Sn-Cu alloy is a good Cu6Sn5 medium. ![]() Taking the surface treatment of OSP (organic protective film) as an example, when the solder paste melts, it will quickly wet the copper layer, and tin atoms and copper atoms will penetrate each other at their interfaces. At this time, the tin in the solder will react with the copper or nickel on the pad to form an intermetallic compound Cu5sn6 or Ni3Sn4. The reflow zone is the area with the highest reflow temperature in the entire reflow section, usually also called "liquid holding time (TAL, time above liquids)". Another purpose of uniform heating in the preheating zone is to allow the solvent in the solder paste to evaporate moderately slowly and activate the flux, because the activation temperature of most fluxes falls around 150☌. In order to avoid uneven temperature inside and outside the parts or between different parts, which may lead to deformation of the parts, Therefore, the temperature rise rate in the preheating zone is usually controlled between 1.5☌ and 3☌/sec. However, the parts on the surface of the PCB are of different sizes, and the area of the soldering pad/pad connecting copper foil is also different, and its heat absorption degree is also different. In this area, the temperature rises slowly (also called a primary temperature rise) so that some solvents and water vapor in the solder paste can evaporate in time, and electronic components (Especially BGA, IO connector parts) slowly heat up to prepare for the high temperature later. So, our reflow profile does match the solder paste specification. The preheating zone usually refers to the area where the temperature rises from normal temperature to about 150☌. The cooling ramp rate, from Figure 2, is (250-90)☌/(5.7-3.8) min = 160☌/(114 sec) = 1. 40☌/sec, which is within the acceptable rate of the solder paste spec. The peak temperature is 250☌, again within the specification recommended range as seen in Figure 1. ![]() There is no “soak” in this profile, so we can ignore this part of the solder paste spec.įrom Figure 2, the time above liquidus is 4.4 – 3.1 minutes (78 Seconds), right within the recommended range of the solder paste spec. This result is just over the recommended spec, but within the acceptable spec as seen in Figure 1. Ramp Profile: From Figure 2, the oven goes from room temperature to liquidus in 3.1 minutes (186 seconds) this gives a slope of (219 – 25)☌/(186 - 0 ) sec = 194/186 = 1.04 ☌/sec. Now, let’s take each reflow profile requirement individually: The solder paste reflow specification is shown in Figure 1 below.įurthermore, let’s assume that we have a reflow profile that we have used in the past, as seen in Figure 2. Assume we want to start using Indium Corporation’s Indium8.9HF Pb-Free Solder paste. Matching a reflow profile to a solder paste spec is a required skill for an SMT process engineer.
